Sense and Sensation: Laurie Fendrich, Paintings and Drawings 1990-2010

As part of a series on leading women artists, the Williamson Gallery is proud to exhibit the first in-depth retrospective of contemporary New York painter Laurie Fendrich. Approximately 60 of her paintings and drawings, from 1990 to the present, will be featured. The saturated, offbeat hues of her colorful paintings form a dramatic counterpoint to the mat, velvety black and white scheme of her drawings.

Laurie Fendrich is currently a professor of fine arts at Hofstra University, where she teaches painting, and she also writes regularly on art, society, and education forBrainstorm, the Chronicle of Higher Education’s blog on ideas, culture and the arts.
