Ashley Newton ’10

GRADUATE INTERN, PUBLICATIONS, GETTY RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Ashley Newton graduated from Scripps in 2010 with a major in art history. While at Scripps, Ashley was an intern in the Office of Public Relations and at the Williamson Gallery. She received the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Foundation scholarship, which supported her MA studies at The Courtauld Institute of Art. At The Courtauld, Ashley studied “Titian, Venice, and Europe” under Professor Paul Hills. Her MA thesis is titled Infidelity in Italy: Contextualizing Sixteenth-Century Ferrarese Paintings of Christ and the Woman Taken in Adultery. In addition to supporting her interest in Italian Renaissance art, Ashley’s professors at Scripps and the greater 5Cs instilled in her the confidence to continue her art historical studies and pursue a career in the art world. Ashley is currently a graduate intern in publications at the Getty Research Institute.
