Pd. D. Candidate in Art History, Brown University

Anne Iverson ’94

“I had the wonderful opportunity of growing up in Europe and Asia and of experiencing their art and cultures first hand. It was the exciting challenge of my rich experience at Scripps, however, that ignited my passion for Art History and lead me to develop the tools needed to pursue a successful career in the field. Inspired by extraordinary professors in the Scripps environment, I was challenged to seek deeper intellectual contexts for my experiences. At Scripps, I found a climate where the desire for intellectual growth was contagious.”

After graduating from Scripps, Anne became Assistant Director at the Jan Abrams Gallery in West Hollywood, where she organized exhibitions. In January of 1995, she joined Sotheby’s in Los Angeles as a Paintings Generalist. There, she managed consignments and coordinated appraisals for American, Latin-American, and 19th Century European Drawing, Sculpture, and Old Master Paintings. Anne also organized the auction highlights exhibition each Spring and Fall at Sotheby’s in Los Angeles. She is presently a graduate student in the Art History program at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
