Vision and Legacy: African Arts at LACMA & A Tribute to Samella Lewis

Dr. Mary (Polly) Nooter Roberts, professor of world arts and cultures at UCLA and consulting curator of African Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will speak about the African art at LACMA. In addition, she will offer a tribute to Samella Lewis,  a renowned artist, teacher, writer, filmmaker, museum founder, and above all, an advocate for African American artists, who has deeply advanced our awareness of the artistic contributions of the African American community.

Dr. Roberts will speak at the Hampton Room, Malott Commons, Scripps College at noon on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.
