Marin Sarvé-Tarr ’08

 

Marin Sarvé-Tarr graduated from Scripps in 2008, majoring with honors in Media Studies and French Studies. She earned her MA and PhD in Art History from the University of Chicago and is currently an assistant curator of painting and sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

As a Wilson Intern at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, she co-organized The Politics of Satire: La Caricature in Post-Revolutionary France at the Scripps Clark Humanities Museum in 2008 under the guidance and mentorship of Professor Mary MacNaughton. Marin has contributed to exhibitions at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris, the University of Chicago Smart Museum of Art, and the Arts Club of Chicago.

She was previously an Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Research Fellow at the Art Institute of Chicago and has received fellowships and awards from the Getty Research Institute, the Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte in Paris, and the College Art Association.
