Opening at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery on the Scripps College campus on May 1st, this year’s annual senior art exhibition entitled “All Cats are Grey in the Dark” features the creative work of a dozen talented Scripps art majors. Emerging from diverse academic backgrounds, the included artists integrate interdisciplinary themes into their work, lending a varied and dynamic quality to their pieces. Ranging from projects that explore the politics of body size and feminine behavior to those that challenge cultural authenticity, the show promises to offer a visual and analytical smorgasbord. Be prepared for both applications of traditional mediums such as oil paint and less conventional materials like a semester’s worth of trash. We invite you attend our opening to be held at the gallery from 7 to 9 PM on May 1st, 2009.
