Gallery Owner

Heather Taylor ’02

Heather Taylor majored in Media Studies with an emphasis on film criticism and minored in Art History. While at Scripps, she ran the Scripps Student Art Society and interned at Rose Gallery, a contemporary photography gallery in Santa Monica, CA. After graduating, she relocated to New York and was the Associate Director of Laurence Miller Gallery, curating an exhibition of Berenice Abbott’s early twentieth century portraits and an exhibition of polaroids taken by Duane Hanson. She returned to Los Angeles in 2004, and opened her own art gallery, Taylor De Cordoba in the Culver City Art District.

She has written art criticism for the ArtCritical.com and is a contributor to the Huffington Post.

“Scripps gave me the critical skills and the breath of knowledge needed to enter the work world with confidence and excitement. The passionate professors, fascinating course topics and art related organizations such as the Student Art Society made my Scripps experience incredibly inspirational. The beauty of the Scripps Campus, together with the dynamic education I received there, will stay with me forever.”
