Lisa Adams ’77

“From the age of ten I knew that I would be a professional artist and the truth is that Scripps College is fundamentally responsible for launching my accomplishments in the Arts. Not only did the Humanities prepare me for life in a cultural milieu but Scripps also provided me with a scholarship which enabled me continue my education, paying for my first year of graduate studies at the Claremont Graduate University. I feel deeply indebted to my undergraduate experience at Scripps for teaching me how to investigate life and the things that deeply interest me. I am grateful for the year abroad that I spent at the University of Heidelberg as well and since have gone on to do many foreign residencies. The career that I have built in the arts is clearly founded in my early experiences at Scripps College.”
