Vaughn Massey ’03

Graduate Student at Christie’s Education, New York City

I am a recent Scripps graduate in Art History, and I finished my Masters Degree in Art History at Christie’s Education in the fall of 2005. I was living in New York City but am currently moving back to Los Angeles. As a student at Scripps I had opportunities to work in the art field through internships at the Los Angles County Museum of Art and at Ace Gallery. I wrote my senior thesis on Dia Center for the Arts which focused on Dia’s role as a catalyst for change in contemporary art.

My exposure to artistic theory and criticism at Scripps has provided me with a strong foundation for the study of art history. This, along with the guidance from Professors Mary MacNaughton and Bruce Coats, prepared me well to pursue my Masters at Christie’s in New York.
