WOMEN AND PRINT: A Contemporary View

A celebration of the works on paper of a number of women artists. The list includes: J. Women and Print Symposium: September 13, 2014, Boone Recital Hall, 3 – 5 p.m. “Digital Technologies and Printmaking,” including artists J. Catherine Bebout, Bernice Ficek-Swenson, Nancy Friese, and Rita Robillard; and moderated by Susan Tallman, editor of Art in Print. Funded by the Class of ’42. That evening, from 7 to 9 pm, the opening will be held, with light refreshments and music, at the Gallery.

SCRIPPS FACULTY EXHIBITION
November 1 – December 14, 2014
Opening: November 1, 7 – 9 pm

Scripps College’s art faculty is composed of renowned artists, whose works are in the collections of major museums throughout the world. In this exhibition, we feature the artistic vision of the artists who teach at Scripps.

71st SCRIPPS CERAMIC ANNUAL
January 24 – April 5, 2015
Opening: January 24, 2015, 7 to 9 pm
Lecture: Jan. 24, 4 to 5 pm, Humanities Auditorium

The Scripps College Ceramic Annual opens for its 71st consecutive year on Saturday, Jan 24th at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery. The exhibition’s curator is Julia Haft-Candell. Artists are: Nicole Cherubini. Jessica Hans, Jun Kaneko, Linda Lopez, Anton Rejinders, Brie Ruals, Kathleen Ryan, and Betty Woodman. On January 24, a special lecture at the Scripps Humanities Auditorium from 4 to 5 pm will be followed by the opening reception, with live music and light refreshments, from 7-9 p.m. at the Williamson Gallery. This event is free and open to the public.

The Jean and Arthur Ames Fund, the Pasadena Art Alliance, and the Paul Soldner Endowment at Scripps College support the exhibition and catalog. Thanks also go to Kirk Delman, David Furman, the Joan and David Lincoln Endowment, John Regan, and Skutt Ceramic Products, Inc.

Scripps Senior Exhibition
May 1–May 17, 2015
Opening: May 1, 7-9 pm

An annual exhibition of final thesis projects created by graduating studio art majors, the Senior Art Show is the culmination of the studio art major at Scripps. In addition to producing the works displayed, seniors conceptualize the show, install their pieces, write artist statements, and design publicity for the exhibition. Works are displayed in the gallery for two weeks, through the end of Commencement. An opening reception will be held in the Bixby Courtyard on Friday, May 1, from 7-9 p.m.
